The 2W: Women & Wine


Donna_vinoMan or woman? This is the last wine issue, maybe. The power of woman in choosing and buying wine is growing more and more, at least in Italy. According to a new study from Vinitaly released by Eta Meta Research, woman are changing the way we look at the wine world: she knows more about wine, about how to taste it, about which one to match with a particular food etc.

Let’s see some data: the survey shows that women think they have a good knowledge on wine matters (23.9%) and, at the same time, the interviewed winemakers say that the number of women trying to choose and buy wine is notably growing (70.3%). In addition, here are some data on italian female preferences: women like more red wine than white and they prefer Champagne (27,5%) and ’spumante’ (23,9%) very much.

Wine times are changing, women are fastly arising and a new manner in marketing the wine is taking place. Welcome to our wine world, women!
