7 emerging Italian wine regions

Vigneto I have in my hands the last issue of Wine Enthusiast, April 2007.

According to the magazine there are 7 wine emerging regions in Italy. What is written?

“With so many distinct territories and grapes, Italy’s geographic and genetic potential allows for wines that are available nowhere else in the world.”

And I can guarantee to you that it’s true!

We are talking about Alto Adige, Campania, Morellino di Scansano, Puglia, Rosso Piceno, Rosso Cònero and Sardinia. All these regions have several features which make them unique. For instance, I live in Puglia and here we have several wines that are seeing greater and greater success both from an economic point of view and from a tasting one.

Although people drink more wine from the famous regions of Tuscany and Piedmont, in general it’s possible now to easily purchase delicious wines from these ‘bew’ regions. Wines such as Negroamaro, Aglianico, and Cannonau.

Keep an eye out for them; and let me know what you think!
