Under 10 wines: let’s go with great young wines in Verona
One of the newest tasting at the coming edition of is dedicated to Under 10 - organised by in collaboration with one of the most famous Italian wine magazine Civiltà del Bere. The event is scheduled on Friday 30 March at 10.30 in the Argento Hall.
This tasting aims to emphasize the results of the wine-making challenges launched at the end of last century with a view to the third millennium. The protagonists are the companies and wines created since 1997 and inasmuch no more than ten years old. This is why the tasting is named Under 10.
In fact, in the late 1990s the world of Italian wine lived a particular phenomenon in its history, generated in a very special market situation: a lot of new cellars were set up all over Italy. Yet not all of them managed to resist the sudden changes in the scenario; on the other hand, many others have established the basis for a great future.
The result focuses on a team of eleven champions of the market. In order to valorise all types of company – not only those focusing on traditions and prestige but also new wineries focusing especially on quality and communication such as packaging, marketing strategies and lifestyle – three categories have been defined:

from Lombardy, and from Tuscany, from Sicily and Agricola Punica (Nicolò Incisa della Rocchetta) and Cantina Santadi from Sardinia

Companies set up by personalities already famous and successful in other sectors who, in keeping with their image of success, have planned such new ventures with the support of top-level professionals to make products of impressive quality: Gian Marco Moratti from Lombardy with Castello di Cigognola, oenologist Riccardo Cotarella, Aldo Brachetti Peretti from the Marches with Il Pollenza and oenologist Giacomo Tachis.
