Valentine’s Day Is Not For Snobs

Valentines Special

I have to admit that I think I have better taste in wine than my wife has. Typically, when we’re out, I will select a wine to drink. I try to take into account what I know she likes or doesn’t like, but, for the most part, I decide what we’ll drink.

whitewine.jpgValentine’s Day is one of the times, though, when I completely defer to her for what we’ll drink. Just because she likes wines that I may not care for or think that they’re a bit basic, it doesn’t matter on February 14. All that matters is that she’s happy with it and enjoys it.

As I’ve said before, wine isn’t only about what the best wine is. It’s about the people with whom we enjoy it. So if your wife wants a white zin on the 14th, don’t tell her how much you don’t like them; find the best one you can, and enjoy the fact that she likes it.
