Napa Wine Flavoured Chocolates
We have had Earl Grey. We have had chili and cardamon. And now wine.
Apparently the latest trend in chocolates is infusing them with wine. The recent had truffles and
ganaches spiked with everything from Chardonnay to Shiraz.
Chocolatier J Emanuel offers the flavoured with various wine grape varieties; Zinfandel from Robert Biale, Cabernet Sauvignon from Silverado Winery, Merlot from Trefethen, Syrah from Joseph Phelps and Chardonnay from Merryvale all feature.
Anyone sampled these? Not seen anything similar on this side of the pond as yet but would be more than interested to see if the results are recognisable as specific wine flavours. Of course a serious tasting would compare the original wine with the specific chocolate - what a tasting that would be!
